FediID lets you sign in to connected services. Each service receives its own identifier rather than a shared customer number.
Your access
Use a supported Fediverse account or an available sign-in option with a verified email address. FediID confirms access and takes you to your service. Normally, switching to FediPass or FediPay does not require signing in again.
Additional protection
Additional checks protect sensitive actions. An expired session may require you to sign in again. Recovering access depends on the verified email addresses and security methods you have set up.
What your identity means here
Signing in proves control of an account. It does not by itself prove an official identity or a unique real person.
In your account, you can inspect connected services and your identity information. More extensive controls for managing and revoking permissions are still partly in development.
